Missing My Little First Grade People

Well... this was my view while working on my tan on Saturday in Arizona. Sunday was spent at the airport in Mesa. Our flight home to Indiana was delayed and delayed and finally cancelled! The weather here in Arizona was beautiful yesterday. I caught some rays in the courtyard at the airport for several hours. I was pretty bummed that I would not be seeing my little people today on our first day back from Spring Break. Today is also our first extended day to make up all the snow days we had this winter. I know my little people are probably so tired with it being the first day back, but then we have 45 minutes added onto the day. The buses are pulling away at 4:15. By the time they get home it will be 5:00. Such a long day for 6 and 7 year olds. On the positive side I got to work on my tan a day longer. Obviously I am a control freak because I was up until 2 am emailing sub plans and outlining all my procedures for my sub today. Luckily I had laid everything for today out on my desk before leaving for Spring Break. Yes, it pays to be prepared and plan well. I would have been frazzled if I had to explain to the sub where every little thing is in my classroom. So glad I left all the necessary items for the day laid out. This morning I sat out at the hotel pool and worked on my tan a little bit. I know no one feels sorry for me that my flight was cancelled and I had to get a hotel here because it is snowing in Indiana and 40 degrees with the temperature dropping. This morning I did not have the beautiful mountain view I had on Saturday, but it was still a pool and it is still warm and sunny in Arizona.  I really am missing my little people, so jealous of the sub. Can't wait to see them tomorrow! Seeing their sweet little faces will make up for the snow that is falling in Indiana and the indoor recess that will most likely happen tomorrow. Hopefully I will be boarding the flight home to the cold in an hour.
